[UK] FUSE ODG - "T.I.N.A" FT ANGEL

Distinctive Fuse ODG drops the video for his new single entitled "T.I.N.A" [This Is New Africa] featuring UK Singer Angel
Download single >> HERE

Fresh from his top 3 charting summer smash ‘Dangerous Love’ (featuring Sean Paul), Fuse ODG returns with another sure-fire hit ‘T.I.N.A’ featuring UK R&B singer/songwriter Angel, released through 3Beat Records on October 5th.

‘T.I.N.A’ is the fifth single and title track to be taken from Fuse’s highly anticipated debut solo album ‘T.I.N.A’ which is due to drop on October 12th. Produced by the award-winning Ghanaian producer Killbeatz, ‘T.I.N.A’ is another slice of afro-pop brilliance, set to sit comfortably on radio airwaves and club dance floors. An acronym for This Is New Africa, the title of the song drives home its lyrical content, namely a celebration of Fuse’s love for his motherland, the Africa of Now.

Already the most successful artist to emerge from the Afrobeats scene, “T.I.N.A” is set to propel Fuse’s all-conquering career to another level. In the past year he’s become mainstream star, selling over a million records with four chart hits in as many singles to his name. He’s been a near permanent fixture on the Radio 1 playlist with the silver-selling singles ‘Antenna’, ‘Million Pound Girl’ and most recently ‘Dangerous Love’, which spent 10 consecutive weeks in the UK Top 20. This in addition to an MTV VMA nomination and a MOBO award win for Best African Act.

FUSE ODG’s T.I.N.A will be released on October 19th followed by the album (of the same name) on 3Beat Records.

FUSE ODG will be on UK Tour October 2014 – Dates HERE

Now time to check the video out…

ARTISTS

As co-head of acclaimed London label Eglo, and long-running host of balmy Saturday afternoon sessions on Rinse FM, Alexander Nut has become famed for his wide ranging approach to selection. The sounds covered both by his label and his show are defiantly unhindered by genre, searching instead for a common atmosphere to bind the music together. “I’m a vibes person,” he agrees. “I don’t really plan things too much, I always just go off the vibe of what’s going on.” That attitude extends to his selection for his shows on Rinse. “Saturday is always a bit calming – it’s always daylight, it’s always the weekend. I can still go dark and deep and stuff like that, but I like to reflect my surroundings – even the seasons.” So depending on the day you catch him, you’re likely to encounter anything from deep house, soul and funk to ruder, London-borne sounds like grime, garage and bass-driven UK house. It’s an electrifying cocktail, heightened by the seemingly effortless way he’s able to segue between disparate rhythms and moods. Although it’s become commonplace for DJs to mix across genres, when he first got involved with Rinse FM in 2007, Nut was one of a rare breed. “At the time it wasn’t really the done thing to be doing eclectic mixes,” he explains, but goes on to cite his wide-ranging musical influences from childhood (“I was obsessed with Curtis Mayfield and Jimi Hendrix as a kid,” he laughs) as teaching him to see beyond superficial boundaries. “I think there’s always been an underlying current or frequency to what I play. I generally don’t seem to see the difference in what I play, it all means the same thing to me.”

Lennart Döring and Gerald Zollner are the two respective halves of high-calibre German duo, Musk. Having met in the musical hotbed that is Berlin’s underground, the two began work together in 2009, producing classic house with a disco-influenced perspective. The duo’s talents spoke for themselves, and as they immersed themselves in the city’s scene their list of plaudits grew rapidly. Their own label, LGDZ, was borne when in 2012 two of Berlin’s leading lights, Dixon and Âme, asked them to be the first external label to be distributed by Innervisions through MutingTheNoise. Gerd Janson and Soundstream were amongst those early few to recognise the duo’s production quality in tracks such as “925″ and their remix of “Space Me Out”. Whilst always working together in the studio, on stage Musk are separated. Gerald is a vinyl DJ and plays everything from disco and proto-house through to a range of more modern styles. Lennart, on the other hand, plays a highly original live set through Ableton Live, where he works with a vast back catalogue material, much of it unreleased, forged over five years of intense studio-work with Gerald.

Rising prospect Dan Shake has achieved what no other has in over a decade: with his debut release in the music world, he has become the very first producer without a Detroit heritage or residency to land a release on Moodymann’s prestigious record label Mahogani Music. Based in London, the former Leeds student secured the feat in a charmingly anachronistic fashion: having just watched Kenny Dixon Jr perform alongside the 3 Chairs at Dimensions Festival, Dan simply handed over a demo CD with a collection of unreleased tracks. Moodymann was hooked almost instantantly, taking the first plunge on welcoming an outsider into his tight-knit crew of Detroit strong artists. Citing influence from the layered percussive rhythms of Afrobeat pioneers such as Tony Allen and Fela Kuti, the soul-drenched sampling of J Dilla and the kind of dark, dense grooves laid out by contemporary producers such as Flying Lotus and Motor City Drum Ensemble, Dan’s situation in winding up on a label renowned for encompassing all those traits is obviously a blessing for the young producer.

LIL BUCK - "PRIMETIME"

We've recently come across a few videos from this very talented young dancer.

Lil Buck is a Los Angeles-based dancer and occasional model from Memphis, Tennessee who specializes in a style of street dance called Memphis jookin'. He gained popularity after director Spike Jonez used his cell phone to record an interpretive performance of "The Dying Swan" by Lil Buck and Yo-Yo Ma. Jonez uploaded the video to YouTube and as of February 2014, it had amassed 2.4 million views!
Lil Buck was born in Chicago but raised in Memphis,
He discovered jookin when he was 12 years old after his older sister showed him some basic jookin dance moves in their living room. After learning more about the dance from neighborhood mentors he spent less time doing his other hobbies, including drawing and basketball, so that he could focus solely on improving his dancing. While attending his last years of High School, Buck began dancing witha dance Group called Sub-Culture Royalty, headed by Mrs. Terran Cooke Gary. When he was 17, he appeared in a number of locally produced by natioally distributed Jookin DVD's entitled Memphis Jookin Vol. 1-3 which was produced by his good friend, now Manager, Jai Armmer. Being a stand out dancer in Memphis on the DVD and youtube.com, Buck began gaining his international dance recognition While mastering Memphis Jookin, Terran Gary introduced Buck to Ms. Katie Symthe of New Ballet Ensemble. Lil Buck studied ballet for two years while on scholarship at the New Ballet Ensemble in Memphis. He accepted the scholarship under the condition that he would not have to wear tights, but he eventually relented so that he could perform with the company in a ballet show.
