Oliver Heldens continues his deep / future house exploration with his follow-up to ‘Koala’, featuring rising artist KStewart. ‘Last All Night (Koala)’ continues to set the tone with his now-trademark instrumentals, while KStewart’s uplifting vocals perfectly resonate with the looping chorus of “we can make this last all night”. Again released on the resurgent FFRR label, ‘Koala’ hits harder than ‘Gecko’, as its initially deceptively simple bass-heavy melody progresses into a leftfield breakdown flooded with stabbing synths.
Oliver Heldens made a huge impression with the release of his breakthrough track ‘Gecko’ earlier this year. Originally released by Tiësto’s Musical Freedom, it hit #2 at Beatport and became a clubland staple before crossing over into mainstream success. The vocal version, featuring a topline by Becky Hill, hit #1 in the UK with over 300,000 sales earning Silver certification and remaining in the Top 10 for a month. On the live side, Heldens has started to assert his prominence with high-energy live shows and his weekly radio show, Heldeep Radio, hosted on his SoundCloud channel.
